How I got here
I was born in Tucson, AZ and never left. My love for music comes from my musical family. Growing up, playing music was pretty much a requirement. My Jefito (dad) could really sing and play almost any instrument he picked up. And my Jefita (mom) can also sing and play a mean tambourine. I started playing at 8 years old when one of my bothers got me a drum set. From there, I tried playing trumpet cause my Jefito wanted a trumpet player in the family, but like my Jefito and my second brother, I ended up playing sax.
Playing all through school and then out locally, I got to play all kinds of different types of music in different bands. Eventually I added keyboards and singing to my gig bag. I also got a few opportunities to go into the studio on some projects. I realized I enjoyed mixing different musical styles under the umbrella of Latin music. I believed music would end up being my career in whatever genre. Not seeing where my music was going, I stopped playing out. My day job started becoming a career and music just became a hobby I sometimes worked on at home.
Messing around with my Roland workstation and Garageband I got excited about playing again. The technology sparked the creative process...pretty cool.
Which has led me to here. Creating whatever inspiration leads me to.
